Are you looking for a new challenge in 2024? Do you care about your community and have some time and skills to share?  How about joining the Crediton Heart Project, the charity which runs this website as well as other projects to support our town and village communities?

The Crediton Heart Project was set up five years ago to make our town a more vibrant place to live and, as it expands, to prevent it becoming a dormitory town for Exeter.

Since then we have developed the CreditonIn&Around website and social media channels, promoting everything going on locally, and delivered a range of events to support the creative arts. We have also been working on our long term aim to establish a new arts and community hub.

In 2019 we published a feasibility study which concluded that Crediton needed more space for its many community groups and services to thrive. Various sites and empty buildings have been considered, and either been unavailable or unfit for purpose.

However, the Crediton Town Centre Masterplan has recently identified a possible site for a community hub in Newcombes Meadow, which might be an opportunity to realise our vision and deliver much of what we think is required.

At the end of 2023 we took the bold decision to expand our work further by merging  with Crediton Town Team to create a single, more effective charity working to make our town a great place to live.

We now need more people to help shape and achieve our vision - for new activities, new partnerships and, eventually, a new hub.

Do you want to join us?  We are particularly looking for people with experience in:

·  fundraising

·  communications, especially website and social media management

·  delivering music and arts events

·  developing community buildings and facilities.

We need a small number of trustees to join the board, with responsibility for running the charity. We’re also keen to recruit a wider number of associates, not as board members but with specific skills to support our various projects.

All roles are unpaid, though reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

To find out more about our plans and how you can get involved please contact our Chair, Rosemary Stephenson, to arrange an initial chat rosemary@creditonheart.org
