Crediton Radio closed in March 2022, but you can listen here to all 67 episodes made during its two years of operation.

In March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, Crediton Radio was launched by Jake Lloyd, an experienced radio producer who had recently moved to the town.  The aim was to bring people together by enabling them to make radio shows that mattered to them.

‘I think listening is the glue that holds society together and this was a new way for people to listen to each other,’ Jake said in his first broadcast.

Over the next two years Jake and a small group of volunteers produced  67 podcasts on a wide range of topics, including  interviews, plays, poetry, stories, music and even one episode set in a virtual pub!  Forty people were involved in making the podcasts, which were listened to 6,500 times.

These unique recordings were regularly broadcast via the Crediton Radio website and gave people a new way of connecting during the dark days of the lockdowns.  It also gave many the chance to make their own podcasts, simply using their phones.

Sadly, due to other commitments, Jake decided to close Crediton Radio in March 2022.  But you can still access all of the podcasts via this link and you can listen to Jake’s final episode here. The Final Episode by Crediton Radio (soundcloud.com)

If anyone with the skills and energy is interested in reviving Crediton Radio, Jake would love to hear from you.  You can email him here.
